ZÓCALO
Taxco's tiny town square called the zócalo in Spanish packs in a lot visual treasures in a very small space. It truly is the town center as almost all traffic has to pass through it to get anywhere else in town. That means lots of cars, taxis, combis, motorcycles, scooters and trucks of all descriptions coming from every direction and going in as many directions on their way out of the square. People, too, concentrate in the zócalo. So, with the people, the traffic and the vendors it can at times be dizzying. Take a look at the photos below to get some sense of what it is like.
