| While we were visiting the Guadalupe church, we noticed
just across the street a stone worker was carving religious works
of art -- a statue of the Virgin of Guadalupe and one other piece.
Both were behind bars. |

| This shrine
is in the center of Taxco just below what was called La Casa de
las Lagrimas (House of Tears) before it was purchased by an American
woman and her new Taxqueñan husband. It is as lovely as is
the rest of this beautiful home. |
This is the
small shrine at the bottom of Taxco's market. You'll find it just
by the folks that sell dried healing and spirit herbs, fresh local
cheeses, fresh herbs, dried chilis and beans and fresh chicken. |

|
| One of the best ways to enter Taxco's market is to
get yourself to Parque Guerrero and walk in on the declining stone
pathway. Along this walk you will find people from villages surrounding
Taxco selling their wares. Everything is fresh and wonderful. Also
note that almost everything that is sold in the market comes through
this same pathway so it is a busy route indeed! |

|
| This is one of the very traditional and also very
common types of shrines found in and around Taxco. It is beautifully
maintained, freshly painted and often cleaned. The potted plants are
watered regularly and fresh flowers are always in view. |
